Poem of the day 10-27-14

I left the window open last
night, letting the wind breeze
and drift through, yellowed
leaves and pieces of weathered
paper, tumbling end over end.

When I awoke, a napkin
lay upon my desk, fluttering.
In hastily scribbled
lipstick-smeared crimson:
I'm sorry.
